The Most Common Problems With Iveco Vehicles

Whether you’re an existing owner of an Iveco vehicle, or you’re looking to join the community and purchase your very own, you certainly aren’t alone. Known for stability and sturdiness, Iveco vans, trucks and other vehicles have been a staple in the building industry for some time now, but they aren’t without their problems from time to time. Owners and mechanics have each reported a number of potential issues you may face with your Iveco vehicle, but by understanding what to look out for, you can keep on top and stay on the road safely. Here are the most commonly reported problems with Iveco vehicles.

Faulty Injectors

Iveco vehicles have been reported as having issues with their injectors over the years, particularly in the Iveco Daily models. The fuel injectors are a crucial part of any fuel system in any vehicle, playing a substantial role in not only keeping everything working and powered, but ensuring performance, fuel efficiency and more. According to CarClinic, “a decrease in power and acceleration, greater fuel consumption and even engine damage have all been linked to injector issues” within Iveco vehicles (https://carclinic.je/iveco-common-problems/). Iveco are aware of the issue, and have even taken action to resolve the issue including repairs and replacements for vehicles impacted.

Warning Lights

The warning lights on Iveco vehicles have also been reported as faulty by owners and mechanics, with some experiencing “erroneous dashboard warning lights” (https://www.commercialmotor.com/knowledge-hub/article/used-iveco-stralis-10-common-problems). These lights would remain on without there being any actual problem needing to be warned about. This issue is typically resolved by switching the ignition off and then back on, which clears the lights and clears the warning, to the point where no trace of a fault is found even on diagnostics.

Door Reflectors

The reflectors on doors of a vehicle are designed to make vehicles more visible to other drives on the road in dark or dim conditions. Iveco Daily models in particular seem to have an issue, with “the door reflectors on some Iveco vehicles [having] a history of breaking loose or falling off” (https://carclinic.je/iveco-common-problems/). This can be dangerous in poor conditions, and while a simple thing to repair or replace, can be frustrating for drivers.

Electrical Problems

Another issue that seems to plague a number of Iveco vehicles relates to the electrics. According to CarClinic, “Iveco drivers commonly complain about battery, alternator, starter motor, wiring and electrical component problems.” These issues can often be put down to “defective parts” or “insufficient production techniques” and as a result, Iveco have encouraged repairs or replacements for vehicles impacted by some of these issues under warranty.
